1.  What Exactly Does Botox do?

Botox injections help with facial wrinkles, fine lines, crow's feet, saggy jowls, and frown lines by temporarily stopping the chemicals that cause muscle contractions. They can also help with some health problems like sweating or depression. Botox injections are safe and can help you look younger.

2. How Long Does Botox Usually Last?

Allergan, the manufacturer of Botox, states that the effects of a younger-looking face from the treatment can last up to three months. The longevity of results is dependent on the dosage of the product used. For instance, injecting 20 units into four points on the forehead, with five units in each, will last longer than injecting only six units. MedVSPA has been using Full Face Botox since 2018, which requires approximately 70 units and can last for 4-5 months. The forehead area typically regains activity faster than the jawline, also known as Chin Botox, Jawline Botox, or Platysma Botox, which can take longer.

3. What is the Side Effect of Botox?

Based on my experience of over 20 years of receiving Botox injections, I have found that the most common side effects are bruises and pain.
After injections, it is common to see bumps on the forehead and around the eyes. These bumps result from the superficial injections required for the muscles under the skin in these areas. However, these bumps typically disappear within 30 minutes. Bruises can appear in any space with vessels, and menopausal individuals may be at a higher risk. In particular, I have noticed bruises in the jowl area when receiving Nefertiti Botox and in the corners of the eyes when receiving "open Eye" Botox. Pain is unavoidable due to the PH of the neuroprotein used in the injections.

4. How Much is Botox in Toronto?

The average cost of FullFace Botox is approximately CAN$800. Botox is a popular treatment globally, although it can be expensive. The manufacturer, Allergan, has conducted numerous studies confirming its safety and effectiveness. In Toronto, Botox ranges from $11 to $17 per unit. 5. Can You Stop Botox Once You Start?

It is safe to stop using Botox as it won't have any harmful or negative effects on your body. While your muscles may not be as relaxed as before, you will still have complete mobility in the treated area. Even if you have used Botox injections for a long time, after a period of five years, you will notice the lines on your forehead when you frown. However, you will still be able to frown, albeit not as vigorously as before. Over time, your muscles will gradually lose the ability to move in the same range of motion as they could before the Botox injections.

6. What is the Best Age to Start Getting Botox?

To receive Botox treatment, patients must be 18 or older. Generally, experts recommend that individuals in their mid-late 20s and early 30s prone to wrinkles are good candidates for preventative Botox treatment. For example, my son began receiving Botox at age 28 to address long and deep forehead lines, and he continues to receive treatments three times per year at age 34. Similarly, my daughter-in-law benefits from Chin Botox to prevent aggressive movements while talking and maintain a smooth chin and jawline.

7. Do You Have to Keep Doing Botox Forever?

Is it necessary to constantly receive Botox injections once you start? Unfortunately, yes. Botox is not a permanent solution, and the effect of a single treatment typically lasts around three to four months. In rare cases, the results may last up to six months. Botox is a preventative treatment that can be used at any age. By relaxing muscles, Botox can prevent fat loss in certain areas, such as under the eyes or Chin. Regular Botox injections like Botox brow lift, Chin Botox,  Nefertiti Lift, and Full Face Botox every 4-5 months can help you achieve a more youthful appearance and prevent signs of aging.

8. Does Botox Have Long-Term Negative Effects?

When used correctly, botulinum toxin rarely causes complications. Cosmetic botulinum toxin treatments do not have any long-term or life-threatening adverse effects. Marina Vashkevich, a cosmetic nurse administering Botox injections for over 20 years, says:" I have noticed that people often experience forehead discomfort due to a permanent hyper tone of the forehead muscle that occurs with aging and helps keep the eyes open. 11. Can you Tell if Someone Had Botox?

Many people fear having a plastic or unnatural look after getting Botox injections. If someone's face appears smooth and shiny without wrinkles, they likely have forehead Botox. However, the current trend with Botox is quite the opposite. Instead of removing wrinkles, we relax the muscles that cause them, known as depressors. This approach can change a negative facial expression, such as looking angry or sad, into a more positive one by making it harder to frown or contract those muscles aggressively. This modern approach is called Full Face Botox, which involves relaxing all muscle depressors, including those in the forehead, crow's feet, Chin, nose, and Platysma.

14. Is Filler or Botox Better for Crows Feet?

It's important to note that Botox and dermal filler work differently. Botox works by relaxing the muscles, while fillers are used to restore volume and improve skin quality. As you age, your muscles become more active while your bones, fat, and skin thickness decrease. Botox reduces muscle strength, and dermal fillers increase skin thickness. A filler is an excellent option to restore volume under the eyes or in the temple area. On the other hand, if you're going to smoothen dynamic wrinkles like crows feet or lift your eyebrows, Botox is more effective. Combining Botox and dermal filler could help if you want to appear younger. It helps reduce eye wrinkles and fine lines and slow aging. 

15. At What Age Do Crow's Feet Appear?

The aging type and home care routine influence the appearance of crow's feet. Generally, they start to develop between the ages of twenty and thirty.
