How do I know if Botox is right for me?

What Is Botox?

Botox is a drug; similar to other drugs, only licensed medical professionals can administer Botox injections. Botox has been using for years in the medical fields, like, paediatrics, neurology, and ophthalmology. The aesthetic is 5% of Botox market consumers. It is a near protein, which works for there where it applied for a limited period. Botox blocks signals from the nerves to the muscles.

How Is Botox Used?

Botox is known for medical and aesthetic.

Medical usage o Botox is related to conditions like:

  • Cervical dystonia , a neurological disorder that causes severe neck and shoulder muscle spasms
  • Blinking that you can't control  (blepharospasm)
  • Eyes that point in different directions (strabismus)
  • Chronic migrane
  • Overactive bladder
  •  Underarm sweating  (hyperhidrosis)

TIn the aesthetic field, the most common reason for using Botox is to reduce the appearance of facial wrinkles and relax muscles-depressors to give the face a" rested impression."

How Does Botox Work?

For a short time, about 3-6 months, Botox blocks signal from the nerves to the muscles. The injected muscle can't contract. That makes wrinkles relax and soften. Blockage of the muscles- depressors, transfer the activity to the muscles- levators. Therefore, instead of a "frown look," you enjoy your happy and relaxed face without or with a few wrinkles.

According to the manufacturer's recommendations, Botox is used on forehead lines, crow's feet (lines around the eye), and frown lines. However, doctors and nurses worldwide use Botox to eliminate jowls, improve the jawline, lift lip corners, and remove cords from the neck.

How Is a Botox Procedure Done?

Getting Botox takes only a few minutes. Preparation for the injections, like face disinfection, dissolving the product, fulfilling the syringes take three times longer than Botox injections by themselves.

Men usually want anesthetic cream before the injections. However, women never ask about that. So, it is up to you. We could apply numbing cream before the injections if you think it helps you to feel more comfortable.

The nurse uses a small needle and insulin syringe to inject Botox into specific muscles with only minor discomfort. Experienced injector uses a separated syringe for each area, like the forehead, around eyes, and nose. Each unit creates a difference. The injector must be precise with the number of units delivering the product into the muscle.

How soon will I see the result?

It generally takes up to 14- 21 days to take full effect. However, the first difference you will see in 3-4 days.

People will tell you that you "look fresh," and you will experience some difficulties squeezing your muscles.

2 or 3 weeks after the Botox injections, you see the face lifting, eyes opening, and wrinkle-free appearance.

You will look yourself, just rested and relaxed.

Please plan your visit because we will ask you not to have a horizontal position for four additional hours. It is still questionable, Botox can be affected or not, but we are afraid of the product diffusion and follow Allergan instructions. Alcohol restrictions are a myth, which scientifically is not proved. Therefore, no restrictions related to taking a glass of wine.

 How to prevent bruising?

Stop taking blood-thinning medications, like aspirin and anti-inflammatory, at least three days before the treatment.

Avoid rubbing the injection site for 24 hours. We want Botox to stay and work in the area of injections only.

Excessive physical movements could spread the Botox to another area. We ask you do not exercise vigorously on the day of injections.

How Long Does a Botox Shot Last?

The effects from Botox will last 3 to 6 months. As muscle action slowly returns, the lines and wrinkles reappear and need to be treated again. The lines and wrinkles often appear less severe with time because the muscles are shrinking.

What are the differences between Botox and Dermal fillers?

  • Botox: stops creases and wrinkles caused by facial expressions. We use Botox in the upper face, such as the forehead, between the eyebrows, and around the eye
  • Dermal fillers: These use hyaluronic acid to "fill in" or plump areas with lost volume and smoothness. The desirable areas are wrinkles around the mouth, thin lips, cheeks that have lost fullness, chin, and jawline. Do not rely on fillers in the forehead and between the eyebrows. It is safe to do Botox in these areas instead of dermal fillers.

  • Botox results last 3 to 4 months. Dermal filler results vary, depending on the filler used—Juvederm Voluma, Volux, and others VOL.. last 18 months minimum.

Because Botox and Dermal fillers are different substances designed for various uses, they can be injected in one treatment. Depressor muscles relaxation gives a rested appearance and face lifting. Fillers restore by aging process lost volume and help to underline some unique features, like lips or cheekbones.
